Stocks End Higher With Focus on Jackson Hole, BIST100 Snaps Winning Streak

  • The US Market ended a 3-day losing streak, led by Nasdaq. The S&P gained 0.29, the Dow Industrials added 0.18, and the Nasdaq closed higher by 0.41%. Investors turned their eyes to Powell's speech at Jackson Hole before they made their bets.

  • Turkey's BIST100 index lost 1.96% snapping a monthlong streak of gains. The widening of the economic policy of the Turkish government has benefited the stock market, however, foreign investors' shares in the Turkish markets are down, due to fear of a balance of payments crisis.

  • The global benchmark for oil, Brent gained 1.52% to USD101.74 following the possible OPEC+ production cut mentioned by the Saudi prince. The Baltic Dry index rose 0.08%.

  • The Stoxx 600 lost 0.17 and Asian Stock indexes extended the last few days' losing streak.
